Random Things Monday

1) I finally registered for the SCBWI Conference in Bellevue next month! YAY! Can't wait to meet

wuggienorple, cynthialord, and gossip some more with mindiscott. Am I missing anyone? Can't wait!! YAY!! (BTW-- what's the plan? Dinner on Friday night? We definitely need a pre-conference pre-funk. :-) ) Also, you know, learning from people like Stephen Barbara, Leisa Abrams, etc, all that will be fabulous too. I will arrive, notebook in hand, ready to soak up some serious knowledge.

2) Late last night, (11pm), I finally got PRADA AND PREJUDICE off to my agent. I believe this should be the final version. She may have some nitpicks but I really feel like I aced it this time. Lets hope she agrees.

3) I moved cubicles, magically, over the weekend. I boxed my things friday and today, whala (okay...I know that word is not spelled right-- how do I spell it?) my things are in my new cube.

4) I'm excited to get back to work on TWENTY-FIVE LIES, because, yanno, its a fun book. i have no idea if I will actually have twenty-five lies though. The title may change to SEVENTEEN LIES or something. Who knows?

5) I just bought JUST LISTEN, by

writergrlover lunch break. I really wanted to read it like a year ago, but I'm too cheap for hardback so i waited until now. One of the reasons I will feel slightly conflicted if my book is ever released in hardback.

Am I the only one confused by this?

Does this make sense to anyone?

Children's: Young Adult
Sarwat Chadda's THE DEVIL'S KISS, the story of a fifteen-year-old girl
conscripted into the modern-day remnant of the Knights Templar, to Donna
Bray at Hyperion, in a major deal, for publication in Fall 2009, and to
Lindsey Heaven at Puffin, in a very nice deal, sold simultaneously, at
auction, in a two-book deal, for publication Spring 2009, by former
Macmillan UK children's publishing director Sarah Davies in her first
deal at her Greenhouse Literary Agency.

Someone translate, please.
