Book Meme

1. What author do you own the most books by?

Kat Martin, a regency romance author. She's the reason I wanted to be published!

2. What book do you own the most copies of?

Prada & Prejudice. I don't own multiple editions of a single book-- except my own.

3. What fictional character are you secretly in love with?

Gavin from THE SEASON by Sarah Maclean, or John After from GOING TOO FAR by Jennifer Echols.

4. What book have you read more than any other?

I very rarely re-read books. The few that I have: HATCHET, THE TRUE CONFESSIONS OF CHARLOTTE DOYLE, and Z FOR ZACHARIAH. They were all books they "forced" us to read in school and I reread in the last year or so.

5. What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?

Probably MISTY OF CHINCOTEAGUE or KING OF THE WIND, both by Marguerite Henry.

6. What is the worst book you’ve read in the past year?

EEK. There are a number of popular books I finally got around to reading that I didn't care for. THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE was a big disapointment for me.

7. What is the best book you’ve read in the past year?

I have to chooose? How about a short list. GOING TOO FAR by Jennifer Echols, THE BODY FINDER by Kim Derting(2010), THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH by Carrie Ryan, and  A MATCH MADE IN HIGH SCHOOL by Kristin Walker(2010).

8. If you could tell everyone you tagged* to read one book, what would it be?

Z for Zachariah

9. What is the most difficult book you’ve ever read?

BEFORE I DIE by Jennifer Downham.

10. Do you prefer the French or the Russians?

Huh? This is related to books? I will go with the french, beccuase they are publishing PRADA & PREJUDICE.

11. Shakespeare, Milton or Chaucer?

I suppose SHAKSPEARE.

12. Austen or Eliot?

Dude, really, you're asking that? Austen.

13. What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?

Classics. I've never read SOOO Many of them. LORD OF THE FLIES, JANE EYRE, WAR & PEACE, A FAREWELL TO ARMS.... my reading skews very commercial, so I tend to skip the classics. Sigh.

14. What is your favorite novel?

I'm supposed to choose ONE? How about Z for Zachariah. i really do love that one.

15. Play?

Er, none of the above please.

16. Poem?

I prefer lyrics to poetry. I can listen to songs over and over and over until I understand them, but poetry, I go all ADD.

17. Essay?

Wow, no idea.

19. Non Fiction

I enjoyed AN ELEGANT MADNESS: HIGH SOCIETY IN REGENCY ENGLAND.

20. Graphic Novel?

Haven't read any.

21. Science Fiction?

I don't think I've read any.

22. Who is your favorite writer?

I have  short list of must-buys: Lauren Barndholt, Jennifer Barnes, Alyson Noel, Jennifer Echols, Sarah Dessen, Ally Carter, Sarah Maclean, Jeneane Frost.

23. Who is the most over rated writer alive today?

Stephenie Meyer.

24. What are you reading right now?

FAERY REBELS by RJ Anderson.

25. Best Memoir?

ON WRITING by Stephen King.

26. Best History?

DEAD CERTAIN: The Presidency of George W Bush

27. Best Mystery or Noir?

I dont really do mystery, but I love MARY HIGGINS CLARK, whome I supposed is more suspense.

I had no idea what to post today, so thank you for this meme. I added it to my LJ. I love book memes!

I agree 100% that Stephenie Meyer is overrated.

She may be overrated, but she is doing extremely well :]

Of course! You can't be overated unless you're commercially successful.

So in other words, someone needs to call me overrated.

I don't begrudge her AT ALL, becuase she's single-handedly brought a TON of readers into the bookstores again, and we all benefit from that.

Wow! THE TRUE CONFESSIONS OF CHARLOTTE DOYLE! I am so impressed that your read that in school. That was a fantastic book. The books I was forced to read in high school were far less inspired choices.

We did! And we had to do projects on it and I remember a friend & I filmed a re-enactment in her garage, only it was supposed to be the cargo hold. HA.

It's so weird you're, like, BFF with her (well...by writer's standards anyway). I used to instant message with her when RC came out. I need to read more by her because she's just the cutest.

Aw- acknowledgements! I love those things! :)
