To pass the time, I have taken to stalking my book. For some I hear this causes anxiety or stress. For me, it is amusing and makes it seem as if it's practically on shelves already.
Stalking Approach #1: The Amazon Ranking. Not only do I periodically check my ranking on Amazon, but I've signed up on Title Z as well, and it shows actual GRAPHS of my Amazon Ranking. SO. Much. Fun. Caveat: Title Z doesn't seem totally acurate- I've seen Prada as high as 50,000 in rankings and it says my highest is 83,000.
Stalking Approach #2: The Google Alert. Oh google, how I love thee! I get little pings every time someone blogs about my book. Unf. many of them are fake-outs, as it turns out I have been linked on their sidebar and the actual blog entry is not about me at all. Sigh.
Stalking Approach #3: Goodreads. Goodreads if my favorite stalking approach. So far I've had a few reviews, mostly from debs who've read the ARC, but now I'm getting TOTAL STRANGERS. Omg, seriously, strangers read my book and/or really want it!! The best part is when they shelve my book under a tag they made on their own. Not just "to-read", but "Eagerly Anticipating"!!! Or "Must-have"!! Sometimes people add a little line when they mark it to-read, like "OMG this looks so cute!"
