Things are going swimmingly with my projects. I *THINK* anyway. I sent the outline of my YA plus a very small partial to my editor last night, so that she could check it out and see if I'm heading in the right direction. It's very intersting to truly fast-draft something... I'm not even scrolling back in the MS to verify any details, but rather noting those spots with ***, so that I can use the find feature later. Every time I forget what someone's last name is or what the teacher's name is or what color someone's car was two chapters ago, I just leave *** and keep writing. So, while the progress is going up quickly, it's going to be a lot of revising later! But hey, we all know I'm no stranger to revising. And I kept my condo in RevisionLand, so that's good. :)
Here's the progress bar for the YA:
As for the NASCAR novella (Titled DRIVEN, due out June 2010), I've hit 7600 words and am chugging along, and should have no problem meeting that deadline on September 1. THis project is fun for me becuase its third person past tense. For some reason I can only write past tense in third person (and vice versa) and I can only do first person if its present tense. Ah, well, that's okay I suppose. Although I should confess i'm such a romantic, I'm arleady wanting the Happily Ever After, and I'm only 25% in. Must keep throwing this couple curveballs!
Progress bar:
Hopefully my progress continues! I hope to hit 10K on the NASCAR Project and 25K on the YA before I head off to TEXT IN THE CITY, my NYC writing trip... hopefully I actually get some writing done in NYC, too!

I'm also really awed that you are writing two different projects on two different genres at the same time. I could never do that; I would get too confused!
Best of luck and I hope this streak of awesomeness continues! :-)
