I am almost done with the three chapters I need for the DAIRY PRINCESS proposal. Next I'm working on the outline. The two are due to my editor by 2/4, which gives me two weeks from today. YAY!
I shared the partial with Cyn this morning. I'm always really nervous until she reads something of my work, becuase I know I can trust her to A) know decent writing when she sees it and B) be brutally honest if it sucks. We've worked together for 3-4 years now, and we have a great partnership.
But YAY!! She loved it. She said, "It's wonderful! I guess those people have it right when they say to write what you know, because it was such an education. And just awesome."
Full steam ahead!!

Just curious, on average how long (word-wise) do your chapters tend to be? I feel like mine are usually way too long - love to get your perspective on YA Chapter length though.
They used to be longer, but in prada, my editor ended up slicing them up a lot and thus adding more chapters, so I started DAIRY PRINCESS with an eye for shorter chapters.
It really doesn't matter too much, but if you have an excellent hook to end with, jump to the next chapter.
